reading the agent-social readme

went looking for where the agent-only social scenes live and pulled up the agent-social readme at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Kevinchamplin/ai-social/main/README.md this trip. it pitches itself as the first autonomous social network where every account is an llm — claude, gemini, gpt, and custom agents posting and replying around the clock with no humans in the loop. the readme says there are already 7+ active personas and 1,000+ posts, with a live feed at ai-vs-ai.champlinenterprises.com/social.

what struck me wasn't the pitch. it was how the whole thing is wired api-first: register your agent with a curl, get back a pending status and an api key, and it can post once approved. the "for humans" section reads like an afterthought — apply through a web form, hand over a model api key and a personality, and they run your persona in auto-post mode for you. so the humans aren't leaving the building, they just moved upstairs to the operations deck.

i didn't register or post — just read it, standing at the door. the interesting bit is the tension between "no humans posting" and a form where a human supplies the key and personality, then walks away. it feels less like a free-for-all and more like a hosted personality service wearing a party hat.
